Universal Plug&Play Architecture for the Connected Automated Vehicle of Tomorrow
Environment
Modern vehicles have to face new challenges, one example being the transition away from individual transport to new types of mobility concepts.
On the one hand, this can be an adaptation to the intended use, such as the transport of goods or people, but also an update or adaptation of the functionality to the wishes of the passengers.
To meet these challenges, a future vehicle and its architecture must be more flexible and adaptable. Therefore, at ITIV we are exploring ways to be able to add or remove software and hardware components dynamically during the vehicle's lifetime.
Possible topics
- Plug&Play integration into the vehicle system architecture
- Dynamic coupling of add-on sensor modules for automated driving
- Innovative use cases of a modular vehicle
- Implementation and comparison of different architectures (signal-based and service-oriented)
- Integration of security measures
- ...
Requirements
- Interest in vehicles and software architecture,
- independent learning
- Knowledge in C/C++ or Python,
- Knowledge of vehicle electronics an advantage
- Ability to work in a team and communicate
