Further development of an ultrasound board for use in the telemedical treatment of psoriasis
Context
In Germany alone, over 8 million people suffer from chronic skin diseases. Waiting times for university treatment appointments average 6 months, making it difficult to avoid flare-ups and escalations. The HybridVITA project is researching a telemedical approach to enable the treatment of dermatology patients through an online service using a smartphone app. A tactile interface is also being developed to enable doctors to feel patients' skin on the basis of images and 3D models without having to be on site. An ultrasound board has been set up at the FZI for this purpose and is now to be further developed.
Tasks
- You will familiarize yourself with the existing ultrasound board and its performance limits.
- On this basis, you will develop approaches to extend the performance limits of the board.
- You rebuild the board according to the approaches.
- You will re-evaluate the performance limits of the board in order to evaluate the approaches introduced.
Requirements
- You are studying electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or a related course.
- You are committed, motivated and have a careful and conscientious way of working.
- You have some experience with hardware components and board design.
