JuBot: Jung bleiben mit Robotern
Project goals
In the course of aging, the need for care is increasing and, at the same time, there is a nursing shortage. As a result, support and care in the home environment can be covered less and less. However, the use of intelligent robot systems with personalized assistance functions can help elderly people to cope with everyday life and thus enable them to live a self-determined life for longer. The goal of the JuBot project is the interdisciplinary development of innovative assistive robot systems on a holistic level. To this end, research is conducted on the mechano-informatics of assistive robot technologies and personalized and context-sensitive assistance. In addition, motor and cognitive training, as well as future life with assistive robots are investigated. For this purpose, humanoid robots as well as exoskeletons will be used and further developed during the 5-year project period. In particular, vision and audio-based assistance functions are to be implemented through the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
ITIV participation
ITIV is involved in the development of concepts and methods for AI-based robot vision, which serve as the basis for the personalized assistance functions. ITIV focuses in particular on real-time capable and efficient hardware accelerators that are integrated into the robot platform.
