Workshop with KIT doctoral students at RA Consulting
Colleagues from the Institute of Information Processing Technology (ITIV) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) presented their research projects at a recent presentation session. Daniel Baumann, Nikola Lukezic, Martin Sommer, Veljko Vučinić and David Kraus from Prof. Eric Sax's doctoral team presented their respective research questions and approaches. At the same time, RA Consulting provided insights into their current research topics.
Numerous ideas for future collaborations were collected during the event:
- Joint research project: a project proposal is to be submitted in 2025.
- Direct cooperation, especially for research-relevant investigations with the NEOLIX vehicle, which could play a role in various projects.
- Cooperation in teaching: joint supervision of Master's and Bachelor's theses or internships.
- Joint operation of a laboratory: a laboratory or tool training at KIT with the tools from RA Consulting.
- A further meeting is planned for the first quarter of 2025 to discuss specific proposals and plan the next steps.
Focus on the NEOLIX vehicle
A particular highlight of the cooperation could be the NEOLIX vehicle, an autonomous prototype that is used in a variety of ways in RA Consulting's research and development. The vehicle serves as a test system for collecting training data in sensor and AI projects, for validating RA Consulting's modular embedded software and in telematics research projects.
The NEOLIX vehicle could be used as a validation or demonstrator object for master's or bachelor's theses. Additional technical equipment is planned in order to be able to carry out specific evaluations. However, precise details still need to be clarified as part of the potential collaborations.
These promising approaches show the potential for close and fruitful cooperation between KIT and RA Consulting, which could enrich both research and teaching.
