Two days ago, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) opened its doors for a special event that attracted technology enthusiasts and the curious alike: the Study Information Day takes place once a year, always on the Day of Prayer and Repentance, a Wednesday in November.

The Institute of Information Processing Technology (ITIV) presented two impressive projects, presented by M.Sc. David Kraus and Dipl.-Ing. Alexey Serdyuk.

CAVIL demonstrator: experiencing driver assistance up close

In the foyer of building 30.10 on the South Campus, interested visitors were able to marvel at ITIV's CAVIL demonstrator. This innovative system uses converted model vehicles to provide an insight into current research into hardware and software architectures in the mobility sector. The demonstration impressively showed how modern technology can help to increase road safety and improve the driving experience.

KIHT: Artificial intelligence in the classroom

Another highlight was the presentation of a digital pen that uses sensors and artificial intelligence to automatically digitize handwriting written on paper. This device is designed to help children learn to write and is a valuable aid in education.

The event offered a unique opportunity to experience the latest developments in technology up close and to exchange ideas with ITIV's scientific staff.
