IPG: proven partnership with the KIT

Prof. Eric Sax with keynote speech at the anniversary celebrations in Tokyo
Japan

IPG Automotive GmbH was founded in 1984 as a project of the former University of Karlsruhe (TH), now the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Originally started as a small project group in an apartment in Karlsruhe, IPG Automotive has developed into an internationally active company.

The close connection to the KIT continues to exist, as IPG Automotive regularly cooperates with the university and benefits from the scientific findings and innovative spirit of the KIT. One example is the cooperation in the field of automated driving. The Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV) at KIT and IPG Automotive work together on the validation and testing of driving functions as well as model-based development and the use of simulation tools.

Ten years ago, IPG's first international subsidiary opened its doors in Japan. This anniversary has now been celebrated with over 200 participants in Tokyo. Prof. Eric Sax gladly accepted the invitation to give an inspiring keynote speech as part of the partner exhibition, which provided plenty of space for stimulating discussions and exchanges.

As Director at the Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV) and the Research Center for Information Technology (FZI), he provided fascinating insights into the current challenges and advances in research into the development of autonomous driving and the use of systems engineering.
