Science Camp Electrical Engineering: Automation in everyday life
What will the technology of the future look like? How do I get from an idea to a functioning technology? How will things be regulated and controlled in the age of automation? For example, how does a "SmartHome" know when to switch on the blinds? How can I teach automated vehicles to recognize obstacles?
The Center for Media Learning (ZML) offers science camps with different focuses - in cooperation with various centers, faculties and institutes. The camps provide the ideal framework for encouraging young people's interest in scientific and technical topics.
In all camps, young people have the opportunity to carry out their own projects with experiments and research in small groups and to look over the shoulders of researchers. As part of the event, a group of students also visited the ITIV and listened to David Kraus from Prof. Eric Sax's team explain the mobility of the future using the demonstrator of the "CAVIL" project. Afterwards, there was enough time to answer open questions about the individual research topics and the possibilities of studying in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at KIT.
